Bcdefg123 here again. This week we’ll be interviewing Metroiddestruktor, who currently has 1st place in Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt, although the interview is about the full version of the game, Metroid Prime: Hunters. The demo comes free with a Nintendo DS if you got it in the first few months.
Bcdefg123: Ok, so tell us a bit about yourself if you want, what kinds of games you play, what other hobbies you have, etc.
Metroiddestruktor: Mmh, I don't really know what to tell you.
I'm 18 years old now and I love the Metroid series. My first game was Metroid 2: Return of Samus which I got when I was eight. This was a very pregnant point in my life.
I do also play other games like the Zelda, Mario and Mariokart series but as you can see only Nintendo games. I like them because I enjoy playing them and they don't get boring too fast.
Some other hobbies of mine are mountain biking, sports, playing soccer and sudoku. But the activity I like the most is playing Metroid.
I'm through all titles of the Metroid series and my favourite one is Metroid fusion through which I ran for around 50 times.
The reason why I got the First hunt-records is simple: I had had some months to kill before the real game was released. So I decided to practise for it with the demo.
Well now you have a little insight of my life.
Bcdefg123: I have a feeling I know the answer, but do you have the full game?
Your feeling is right.
I got the game some weeks before it was released in europe and now I have 4 stars on my licence and I'm through the Singleplayer in 1:49 and I'll try to run through it in sub 1:30. My best 100% time is around 4 hours.
Bcdefg123: How hard is it to get used to the controls? Because for me, I never found a scheme that felt 100% right.
I think that there's no scheme that feels 100% right.
But I also don't think that it's hard to get used to the controls. I prefer the stylus mode right with a speed of 11.
Bcdefg123: Who's your favorite hunter?
Samus, she's simply the best.
Bcdefg123: Any tips for us?
Yes.
Her homing missiles are very strong and helpfull, so if you're in biped form always have a charged missile unless you use another beam.
But the real power of Samus lies in her alt-form. When you use the morphball boost you can do 100 points of damage in less than 2 seconds. Simply use the touchscreen to boost and never stop. One hit does about 28 damage. If you like to you can add bombs to this boost attack to blow the ball into the air, which is helpful when your opponent jumps.
Here's a list of damage given by weapons made by me: http://lukas.citostyle.de/Damage.txt
Have fun with it.
